The Marble Mountains consist of five peaks; each represents a natural element (Water, Wood, Fire, Gold and Earth). The largest Thuy Son (Water) has several caverns in which Hindu and Buddhist sanctuaries have been built over the centuries. The imperial city of Hue: Capital of Vietnam during the Nguyen Dynasty is built on the banks of the Perfume River along the same principles as the Forbidden Palace in Beijing.
